Science cannot explain how life originated on earth. Atheistic and Agnostic Scientists used to believe lightning struck a “primordial soup” and created the first amino acids and, millions of years later, here we are. But the theory had to be abandoned: because it couldn’t have happened that way.

The story went something like this: ages ago the earth was a barren and rocky place with countless pools of water. Somehow, those pools had “necessary ingredients” and lightning kept striking those pools until the electric current produced an amino acid. Among the “necessary ingredients” was a hydrogen-rich atmosphere with a mixture of methane, ammonia, and water vapor.

In 1953, Stanley Miller demonstrated in a laboratory how he thought it happened. He put all the “necessary ingredients” to produce an amino acid in a pool, and then passed an electric current through it. And amino acids were formed.

Atheists were ecstatic. Colleges and high schools taught students that this was how life formed. Except they were wrong. It turns out that primitive earth (if the earth really is that old) had an atmosphere with little if any methane, ammonia, or hydrogen. NASA research proved this in the 1980s.

So the theory had to be abandoned. And now they don’t seem to know how a mass of inorganic chemicals could come to life. And now, scientists with a godless worldview have no good explanation for

The most popular theory currently is that life somehow made its way here from

SCIENCE IN THE BIBLE

another planet, possibly from another galaxy, and maybe from another Universe. But that brings up the same problem: how did life originate “there?”

But there is a perfectly plausible explanation for the origin of life in the Bible. “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good… And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:20-21, 24-25.

A living cell, even a simple one-celled organism, is an incredibly complex, functioning organism. It has biochemical subcellular machines, and biochemical instructional codes that are far too intricate to come together spontaneously. Some of the subcellular machines are like trucks, ferrying supplies across vast distances. They do this along cellular highways marked by traffic signs, both made of molecules. Cellar computer programs of astounding complexity control the assembly of the machinery. How did those complex subcellular structures come together, and then begin working?

Someone had to assemble the component parts. Even then, life cannot be generated from non-life. Science cannot even give us a good definition of what “life” is. To take non-life, and see it become living, is beyond scientific explanation. But the biblical explanation is perfectly rational and logical. A supernatural being brought life to our planet.
