1.Ruby on Rails

Ruby on Rails is a web development framework. A web development framework is a set of code libraries that provide developers with "off-the-rack solutions" for reusable code. It is typically used for creating forms, table, or menus on a site.

Ruby on Rails was created by David Heinemeier Hansson in 2004. It was based on the computer langauge Ruby made by Yukihiro Matsumoto in 1995.

Ruby on Rails is used for scripting Ajax calls using Prototype and Script.auclo.us. Rails separates the markup of the page from scripting. Rails also introduced Sass as standard CSS templating.

In my opinion, Ruby on Rails can have a positive impact on our industry. It allows web developers to have access to pre-written code, both quickly and easily. It speeds up the code-writing process by providing complex code blocks that can be found easily, allowing work to be completed more efficiently.

2. Dark Mode

The typical scenario is you have a relatively light theme on your site. But there's also a way to either automatically or manually change the entire site to a dark theme.

Examples light or dark mode being used include the operating system of Apple's iPhones. a simple toggle in the control center will change many of Apple's native apps, as well as some third party apps from light to dark mode. Google, DuckDuckGo, and many other web browsers have a light mode/dark mode toggle.

As far as impacts on the industry, it's fairly positive in the eyes of most developers/users. Dark mode can help when using devices in a dark environment. However, light mode can minimize eye strain.

Personally, I like dark mode on my iPhone but find myself going back to light mode for how simple and clean it looks. Ultimately, it's up to each user to what mode is better for them.

3. Voice Search

Voice search allows a user to use the microphone of their device to "type" out their search without actually typing out the search.

Voice search is also used by AI like Siri and Google Assistant to help users find out the weather for the day or find a direct route to a particular location. Users can also send text messages or create notes using voice search.

The main purpose of voice search was to allow users to perform tasks with the convenience of not using their hands.

Overall, I think voice search is a great trend because a parent with their hands full can use voice search to create a shopping list. Someone in the middle of cooking with their hands dirty can send a quick text to someone. Again, voice search can help out a lot of people do simple tasks that they couldn't otherwise do.
